WHAT WILL WE DO?
We depart from Pier One at the Port of Malaga, pass the "Palmeral de las Sorpresas" at Pier Two and pass through the beautiful gardens of the Paseo del Parque, one of the most important parks in Europe for tropical plants.
We arrive at the Cathedral, also called "la Manquita" because its south tower was never finished, but it is nevertheless one of the Renaissance treasures of Andalusian architecture.
We can't help but roll past the door of the great Picasso Museum, one of the two art galleries that the city dedicates to the artist along with his birthplace; both bring together an important collection of works, documents and memorabilia that retrace and summarise the inspired artistic life of Pablo Ruiz Picasso.
We cross from the corner where he was born, the Plaza de la Merced, the most characteristic square in Malaga, presided over by an obelisk in the centre dedicated to General Torrijos for his bravery in defending the city.
From here, on our segway, we arrive at the Roman Amphitheatre, built by Caesar Augustus in the ancient Roman city of Malaca and which was discovered in 1951 during the construction of the Palace of Archives and Libraries (Casa de la Cultura).
In the middle of this journey back in time, we climb the Gibralfaro Mountain to the Parador Nacional and let ourselves be seduced by the history and the landscape, enjoying the most impressive views of the coast of Malaga.
We return to the city and its narrow streets, we drive to the Plaza de Uncibay, named after the Biscayan captain Fernando de Uncibay, who led the conquest of Malaga under the orders of the Catholic Monarchs. We continue our way through the Plaza de la Constitución to the famous Calle Larios, built in the 19th century by the family of the same name and nowadays the fifth most expensive shopping street in Spain.
From here, we go back along the Paseo del Parque back to Muelle Uno, along the Paseo de la Farola, its balconies, and the Malagueta beach.
We arrived back at our starting point, still with the fresh memory of the wonderful tour of Malaga and its history on our Segway which, like the weather, never stops rolling.
The "City Tour + Gibralfaro" is the one you were looking for if you want to get to know Malaga without missing a single corner, its historic centre and its narrow streets, as well as the impressive ascent to Mount Gibralfaro as a final climax, where you will enjoy unparalleled views that reach the entire city and its beautiful coastline.
